Dr. Austin Kooba - Leader in Ob/Gyn Care and Education
Dr. Austin Kooba is an OB/GYN physician with the Calexico Wellness Center. His range of experience includes assisting patients in navigating menopause and the hormonal changes it brings. He also undertakes women’s annual health exams and provides prenatal care to those who are expecting. Dr. Austin Kooba’s holistic approach to patient wellness emphasizes acknowledging connections between the spirit, mind, and body.
Dr. Kooba previously held responsibilities as Kaiser Santa Rosa medical director for maternal/child. He provided knowledgeable care in potentially serious situations such as postpartum hemorrhage and emergent cesarean birth. He also engaged as education lead for the Permanente Medical Group’s OB/GYN Department and provided a full range of gynecological patient care, while training and mentoring others in his field. Dr. Kooba emphasized the importance of educating patients on the various facets of reproductive health.
Dr. Austin Kooba twice earned distinction as Teacher of the Year, as voted by rotating residents and medical students at Kaiser Santa Rosa Medical Center. He has served as a founding faculty member and associate clinical professor at Touro University Medical School.
